Here’s another Showtime Johnny Pal speed bag video. This one a little background on this guy. I really like his enthusiasm. He seems like a real character.

So I got it wrong last time — way wrong. At least I think I did. I’m not really in the mood to sort through the specifics right now. I’m sure the guys over at speedbagforum know waaaaay more than I do about this guy and his skills.

Sorry if the video is a duplicate. But I could not let the error stand. If Mango DaVille is Showtime Johnny Pals username or something. Maybe he just duped a vid and posted it on YouTube. Either way, Speed Bag Skunk is still the king of YouTube speed bag videos.

I really don’t know much about this cat except that he seems like a fun dude. I bet he keeps his friends and fans laughing and entertained. I’m not much for the ukelele but I think he’s Hawaiian so he may get a pass. We’ll have to see. Anyway, enjoy his bag bangin. I could not find any speed bag videos, but his myspace page has some of his ukulele stylings, such as “My Guitar Gently Weeps,” originally performed mastered by The Beatles.

Whoa Nelly Furtado! Lemme explain something abou this here blog post. It’s satirical and therefore could easily be misunderstood by unknowing, dim-witted readers such as yourself those other guys. Anyway, urban dictionary does a great send up on the term, speed bag.

First thing to note are the various spellings labeling that thing we love to beat around all the time.

“NO! Not that thing, that thing. ”

Urban Dictionary lists these spellings: speed bag, speedbag, speed-bag, speed-bagging, speed bagging. There are as many definitions as there are deviations in the spelling. I used the word “deviations” because this whole blog post is about to deviate. Once you read the various definitions and how the world has perverted the meaning of our precious pastime you’ll see what I mean.

To slap one’s testicles across another individual’s face (esp. forehead). Similar to tea bagging, however in this case the sack is not rested on the deponent, but rather used as an instrument of assault.

Speed bagging is often done to humiliate and/or shame the person upon which it is inflicted. It is also valuable for its humorous quality.

It starts rolling downhill from there pretty quickly, immediately. The definitions which follow are equally crass and rude. This is a very sexist terms and using it requires one to dispense of any decency. (It also requires one to look over their shoulder before saying it lest your girlfriend or whatever start to speed bag your head with her fists instead of you speedbagging her head with your meat-clackers.

Here’s my favorite context-quote from the bunch:

“I thought I was going to be down there all day, so I hit it like a speed bag and went straight to bed.”

There’s a whole series of these stock photos for licensing at istockphoto.com. Color me incredulous at the pricing. I’ve spent a fair amount of money on stock photography over the past decade. I have a pretty good sense of pricing and I was very surprised, if not shocked, to see a buy price of 40 credits for the size I wanted. But then I checked out quavondo’s profile. Dude is a bad ass.

Any gym-owners, speed bag photographers, fighters, trainers, etc should definitely consider using istockphoto as a source of additional income. It’s a great way to make a name for yourself online too.

That’s a pretty good deal for an awesome domain name. Any speculation as to what, specifically, the content will be. I wonder how long it will be before the speedbag website is up and running.

Here’s a second clip of Tom Warnken Mclaughlin from SE Wisconsin. He throws some good kicks and shows you some of the drills he used to get to where he is today. I really have no clue exactly where that is, but I do recognize a talented kid when I see one.

I hope he doesn’t get a huge-head and inflated-ego that seems endemic to the MMA scene.
